Just got back from a week recording in Franklin, TN with my partner-in-crime Marc Lacuesta, the other half of our indie pop duo The Idle Hours. Blog to come soon, so stay tuned! As of now, it's just a little tadpole of an idea that we both hope will become some kind of wonderful. =) Meanwhile, Midwest College Dates begin at Drake University on Aug. 20, followed up by my first-ever trip to Wisconsin, at Carthage College in Kenosha on Sept 9. What's good, world? The SoCal sun has been good to me, and I've gotten some writing done, even co-writing (something I'm still getting used to!) with friends like YouTube star Melissa Polinar and Nashville producer Marc Lacuesta. I'll be back to the college circuit beginning in August, and am psyched to announce that I've teamed up with the award-winning Auburn Moon Agency to book colleges going forward. Nancy Oeswein over at AMA has been nothing but supportive and helpful ever since I prepped for NACA in St. Paul in March, so signing on with her agency was a no-brainer! As I write this, I realize it's been an offensively long time since I've updated! (Sorry!) So I'll attempt to do that here... :) In April, I had the chance to perform at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center (NYC) as part of StarMagic 18, featuring pop stars from Manila. It was a crazy experience! The house was sold-out, the crowd was great, and I fell in love with their Steinway concert grand (swoon...) I also got to hang with some of the stars backstage. :) I'll post a video from that performance on YouTube very soon! In May, I returned to Nashville to perform at Herschel Greer Stadium, and to team up with the fun folks at Walden Guitars for a promo video. That will be up on their website shortly, but you can find out more about Walden Guitars online. As it happens, I'll be back to Nashville in August for a couple of weeks to work on a duo project with Marc Lacuesta, who is a fantastic producer, vocalist, songwriter and all-around great person. Just got back from my mini-West Coast tour and had a complete blast! Thanks to everyone who came out to the Seattle and L.A. shows, and those who tuned into the Kababayan LA TV show. This will be a year of many "new" things. The album is all mastered, thanks to a wonderful guy named Dave Ives over at 101 Mastering in L.A. (101mastering.com). I am SO impatient to get these out to you, but alas I must wait. 2008 has been a busy year so far. I've teamed up with Alex Houton (alexhouton.com) on my very. first. full. length. album. Wahoo!
The first few months were spent locking myself in my room to block out the world and write. Then I spent the first part of summer figuring out arrangements with Alex before recording in August.
